Big Month for Bird Stuff

This is my kind of month - not only is February National Bird-Feeding Month, it is also time for the Great Backyard Bird Count!  National Bird-Feeding Month was created in 1994 to help educate the public about the hobby of feeding and watching wild birds.  Because of this special designation, February has become the favorite month for many wild bird feeding promotions and activities.

One of the best ways to celebrate this month is to participate in the 15th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), which will be held on February 17 - 20 this year.  This four day event engages participants of all ages and skill levels in the collection of data regarding the number of birds and variety of species seen and heard in their own backyard.  This is a fun and interesting event and a great way to get your flock off their tail feathers and out of the nest, at least for a while!

Instead of me rambling on about the GBBC details, just follow the link below to the website.  There you will find all the information, rules and forms you will need to participate.
